Sonali Bank will give scholarships to poor and talented students, the required documents. Sonali Bank Plc will provide scholarships for poor, meritorious, orphan, and disabled students. The bank has published a notification for this purpose. According to the notification, students of poor meritorious, backward, and remote areas such as Howar/Dwip/Char, farmers, day laborers, meritorious children of minority ethnic groups, orphans, and disabled students can apply for Sonali Bank PLC scholarship online conditionally. The application which started last Wednesday can be made till December 9.

Those who can apply:

► Students who have passed the SSC or equivalent examination in 2023 and are currently studying at the HSC or equivalent level or who have passed the HSC or equivalent examination in 2023 and are presently studying at graduation or equivalent level can apply.

► GPA-5 in SSC or equivalent examination for poor and meritorious quota students studying at HSC or equivalent level, GPA-4.50 for children of freedom fighters, martyred freedom fighters and veterans, GPA-4.50 for minority ethnic group students and physically challenged and third gender students Must obtain a minimum GPA of 3.50 in the field.

► GPA-5 in HSC or equivalent examination for poor and meritorious quota students studying at graduation or equivalent level, GPA-4.50 for children of freedom fighters, martyred freedom fighters and veterans, GPA-4.50 for students from minority ethnic groups and physically challenged and third gender students Must obtain a minimum GPA of 3.50 in the field.

► Only poor students/minority ethnic group students / physically challenged / orphans / destitute freedom fighters, martyred freedom fighters, and students whose monthly income of parents/guardians is not more than 15 thousand rupees (excluding freedom fighter allowance) can apply. Children of wealthy individuals need not apply.

Scholarship Amount:

► Scholarship amount is one time 10 thousand taka.

► Apply through the Sonali Bank website. The list of preliminarily selected applicants will be published on the Sonali Bank Plc website in due course.

Documents required for application:

► Online Application Form (with signature and sealed recommendation of Head of Institution/Head of Department) printed by the selected applicant in the preliminary selection,
► Study certificate issued by the Principal/Head of Department of the institution currently studying,
► Attested copy of Academic Transcript, Certificate, and Certificate of Citizenship,
► Attested copy of Birth Certificate/NID,
► Monthly income certificate of the student’s parent from the Union Parishad/Municipality/City Corporation (parent’s profession and monthly income should be mentioned) and salary certificate from the concerned head of the office concerning the title and pay scale of the working parents,
► Freedom fighter certificate in case of children of freedom fighters, martyred freedom fighters and heroes,
► Attested copy of disability certificate issued by Directorate of Social Services/ District Social Services Office/ Upazila Social Services Office in case of disabled persons,
► Certificate/certificate from the local public representative in case of minority students and
► Appropriate certificate/certificate issued by the Directorate of Social Services in case of third gender.
