MBBS/BDS Admission Circular for Foreign Students (Session 2022-2023):

01. Please be informed that the Directorate General of Medical Education of the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare of Bangladesh has announced the admission of foreign students to Government Medical and Dental Colleges for the academic year 2022-2023. A total of 216 seats are reserved for foreign students this year of which 117 seats are allocated for SAARC countries and 99 seats are allocated for Non-SAARC countries under the Bangladesh Government’s scholarship program.

Country-wise allocations of seats are as follows:

Seats reserved for candidates from Non-SAARC countries (Note: No SAARC country student will be given admission in the seats reserved for the Non-SAARC candidates)

02. In addition to admission to Government Medical/Dental Colleges the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare will consider the application of foreign students for admission to Private Medical/Dental Colleges in Bangladesh. A list of Government and Private Medical & Dental Colleges and the allocated number of seats are available on the Website www.dgme.gov.bd. For Private Medical/Dental Colleges maximum number of foreign students is 45% of their total allocated seats.

3. Criteria and procedure of application for foreign students are enclosed at www.dgme.gov.bd.

4. Interested candidates have to submit an online application only through www.dgme.gov.bd. No hard copy of the application will be needed to submit to Bangladesh’s foreign mission abroad. The deadline for submission of online applications is 30 March 2023 for both Government and Private Medical Colleges/Dental Colleges/Dental Units. No application will be considered after the deadline.

5. Candidates have to upload a recent Passport size Photograph, Passport document, all academic documents (certificates and marks sheets of SSC/O-level/10 class completion/equivalent examination and HSC/A- level equivalent examination), and copy of Telegraphic Transfer (T.T)/SWIFT Message of USD 100$ (One Hundred US Dollar) in the specific template of each online application.

 

All submitted academic documents are required to be attached by the Ministry of Education and Foreign affairs of the respective countries. After submission of the online application through the online platform candidates have to collect a system-generated printed copy of the application form Eligible applicants must submit the attested document to the Bangladesh mission to obtain a visa.

 

Fabrication of any documents in the admission process is subject to the cancelation of admission and legal procedure. Applicants must have an aggregate GPA of 8.0 (Eight) on GPA 5 (Five) scale for Government Medical/Dental Colleges/Dental Units and a GPA of 7.0 (Seven) on GPA 5 (Five) scale for a Private Medical/Dental Colleges/Dental Units with GPA 4.0 in Biology in HSC/A-level/equivalent examination in both instances.

7. For admission of foreign students in Bangladesh admission policy of MBBS/BDS course 2023 will be applicable.

Candidates have to apply online for government medical colleges, private medical colleges, government dental colleges, and private dental colleges individually and separately.
