The online application period for Police Sergeant recruitment will be valid from 25 November 2022 at 10:00 AM to 22 December 2022 at 23.59 AM. Online applications are invited from eligible interested male and female candidates for recruitment against actual vacancies of Bangladesh Police Sergeant post. Educational qualification for recruitment of SI and Sergeant requires graduation or its equivalent educational qualification, driving learner or license for Sergeant. 1. Candidate’s Age, Qualification, and Experience:

1.1 Candidate’s Age: The candidate’s age should be between 19 to 27 years as of 22nd December 2022 AD. In the case of children of heroic freedom fighters or martyred freedom fighters, the maximum age is 32 years. It should be noted that according to the directives of Ministry of Public Administration Circular No.-05.00.0000.170.11.17.20-149 dated 22.09.22 AD, those who are 27 years old (in the case of children of heroic freedom fighters or martyred freedom fighters, the age Maximum 32 years) not exceeded will also be considered eligible to apply.

 

1.2 Educational Qualification and Experience:

• 1.2.1 Obtained a minimum Bachelor’s degree from an approved university;
• 1.2.2 Must be proficient in driving a motorcycle;
• 1.2.3 Must be computer literate.

1.3 Nationality:

• Candidate must be a citizen of Bangladesh by birth.

1.4 Marital Status:

• Candidate must be unmarried (divorce not acceptable) and must remain unmarried till completion of an apprenticeship.

1.5 Physical Dimensions of the Candidate:

Height:

• Male candidates are at least 5 feet 8 inches or 1.7272 meters
• Female candidates must be at least 5 feet 4 inches or 1.6256 meters

Chest Size:

• Male candidate chest size is 32 inches or 0.8128 meters in normal state and 34 inches or 0.8636 meters in expanded state.

Weight:

2. Online application rules for physical fitness verification test including physical size and document verification

 

2.1 First step:

2.1.1 Application form for Physical Endurance Test (PET) should be filled by entering the link http://police.teletalk.com.bd along with verification of physical measurements and documents. The link will provide helpful video tutorials and form-filling guidelines to fill the application form correctly. Apart from this, the help option of the link can be used to fill out the form;

2.1.2 Online application period will be valid from 25 November 2022 10:00 AM to 22 December 2022 23:59 AM;

2.1.3 Every eligible candidate will get a USER ID immediately after filling the application form. In this case, the candidate has to deposit Rs.40/- (forty) (non-refundable) service charge from any Teletalk prepaid mobile number within 72 hours of filling the application form;

2.1.4 Candidate’s signature (Length 300 × Width 80 Pixel) and color photograph (Length 300 × Width 300 Pixels) should be scanned and uploaded in the designated place on the online application form;

2.1.5 The information filled by the applicant will be used in all subsequent activities, so the candidate must be 100% sure about the correctness of all the information before submitting the online application form;

2.1.6 The candidate should retain a print copy of the online filled application form for use in any examination-related case;

2.1.7 Even if all parts of the online application form are filled and submitted, the online application will not be accepted in any case until the examination fee is deposited.

 

2.2 Step Two:

3. Preliminary screening

3.1 Candidates applying online will be subjected to preliminary screening based on SSC or equivalent, HSC or equivalent, degree or graduation or equivalent examination result and height as per prescribed recruitment rules. Through screening, a certain number of eligible candidates will be selected for Physical Endurance Test (PET) along with verification of physical measurements and documents;

3.2 Candidates who pass the Preliminary Screening will be notified later through SMS (SMS) of the examination center, date and time scheduled for the Physical Endurance Test (PET) on their mobile numbers.

4. Collection of admit card or admit card for physical ability verification along with verification of physical size and documents

4.1 Candidates shortlisted in Preliminary Screening will enter the USER ID, post name, photograph, exam date, time and exam center name along with the USER ID and PASSWORD sent in SMS to police.teletalk.com.bd link.
Admit Card for Physical Endurance Test (PET) containing information should be downloaded and printed 02 (two) copies;

4.2 Candidates must bring 02 (two) copies of admit card at the time of the physical fitness verification test along with verification of physical measurements and documents.

5. Physical fitness verification test including physical measurement and document verification

• 5.1 Candidates will have to participate in 7 events of the Physical Endurance Test (PET) viz.- Run, Long Jump, High Jump, Push Up, Sit Up, Dragging and Rope Climbing at the prescribed test center, date, and time. A “Video” regarding Physical Endurance Test has been uploaded on Bangladesh Police Official Channel on YouTube, Bangladesh Police Verified Facebook Page 4 Bangladesh Police Website (www.police.gov.bd) to give a fair idea about PET.
• 5.2 Candidates must be present with the following documents to participate in the physical fitness verification test along with verification of physical measurements and documents-
• 5.2.1 02 (two) copies of Admit Card for Physical Endurance Test (PET);
• 5.2.2 Original copy of educational qualification certificate/temporary certificate;
• 5.2.3 Original copy of character certificate issued by the head of the last educational institution;
• 5.2.4 Original copy of permanent citizenship certificate issued by Union Parishad Chairman/City Corporation Mayor/Municipal Mayor/Ward Councilor (as applicable) as evidence of permanent resident of the district/nationality;
• 5.2.5 Declaration of indemnity of candidate downloaded online and consent were given by a parent or legal guardian;
• 5.2.6 Original copy of the candidate’s national identity card (if the candidate does not have a national identity card, original copy of the candidate’s parent’s national identity card);
• 5.2.7 3 (three) copies of recent passport-size color photographs attested by a Government Gazetted Officer;
• 5.2.8 In case of verification of the age of children of brave freedom fighters/martyred freedom fighters, attested copy if the freedom fighter’s name is in Red Muktibarta, attested copy if the freedom fighter’s name is in the Indian list/original copy of gazette issued in the freedom fighter’s name;
• 5.2.9 Original copy of the certificate issued by concerned Union Parishad Chairman/City Corporation Mayor/Municipality Mayor/Ward Councilor (as applicable) if the candidate is the child of a freedom fighter/martyr;

• 6. ONLINE APPLICATION RULES FOR PARTICIPATION IN COMPUTER SKILLS AND INTELLIGENCE AND ORAL TEST WITH WRITTEN AND PSYCHOLOGY

6.1 Candidates who have passed Physical Endurance Test (PET) have to fill the online application form to participate in written and psychological computer skills and intelligence and oral tests;

6.2 First step
6.2.1 The candidate has to login to the http://police.teletalk.com.bd link with his USER ID and PASSWORD and fill the prescribed application form;
6.2.2 A fee of Tk 550/- (Five Hundred and Fifty) (Non-refundable) shall be deposited from any Teletalk prepaid mobile number within 72 hours of filling the said application form;
6.2.3 Candidates must be 100% sure about the correctness of all the information before submitting as the information filled in the online application form will be used in all subsequent activities;
6.2.4 The candidate should retain a print copy of the online filled application form for examination purposes;
6.2.5 Even if all parts of the application form are filled and submitted, the online application will not be accepted under any circumstances until the examination fee is deposited.

6.3 Second step

6.3.1 Each candidate shall send two SMS from any Teletalk prepaid mobile number having a balance of at least Tk.550/- (Five Hundred and Fifty) using his/her USER ID;

6.3.2 After paying the examination fee and charges, the candidates have to collect the admit card of the computer skill test including written and psychological from online.

7. Collection of Admit Cards for written and psychological along with computer skills and intelligence and oral test

7.1 Candidates who have passed the Physical Endurance Test can enter the roll number, post name, photograph, and test results using the USER ID and PASSWORD sent in the SMS at http://police.teletalk.com.bd link. 7.2 Candidates must carry the said admit card at the time of written and psychological and computer skills and intelligence and oral tests;
7.3 Candidates who have cleared the written and psychological tests will be given the admit card for intelligence and oral test subsequently.

8. Written and Psychological Test:

The written and psychological test will be held in the following 3 subjects with a total of 250 marks-

• English and Bengali Essay and Composition – 100 Marks, 3 Hours
• General Knowledge and Mathematics – 100 marks, 3 hours
• Psychology – 50 marks, 1 hour

The examination schedule and examination center-related information will be informed later on the official website of Bangladesh Police (http://www.police.gov.bd) along with the mobile number of the candidates through SMS (SMS).

9. Computer Skill Test:

Candidates who have cleared the written and psychological test will have to participate in the computer skill test (MS Office, Web Browsing And Troubleshooting) as per the scheduled test center, date and schedule.

10. Intelligence and verbal tests

10.1 Candidates who have passed written and psychological computer skill test will have to participate in intelligence and oral test of 50 marks as per the prescribed examination center, date and schedule. In this case, the successful candidate has to collect the admit card of intelligence and verbal test by accessing http://police.teletalk.com.bd link using USER ID and PASSWORD;

10.2 Based on the marks obtained in written and psychological and intelligence and oral tests, the results of the passed candidates will be published as per the recruitment rules.

11. health check

Candidates who have passed the written, psychological and intelligence and oral tests will have to attend the health examination by submitting the completed medical history form online at the Central Police Hospital, Rajarbagh, Dhaka on the scheduled date and time. The decision taken by the concerned Medical Board of Central Police Hospital, Rajarbagh, Dhaka regarding health examination will be considered final. If declared ineligible in health examination 01 (one) time, no application for re-health examination will be considered.

12. Final nomination for basic training

Candidates recommended by the Selection Board will be finally shortlisted for basic training subject to the satisfactory declaration of eligibility in health examination and police verification.
13. Basic training
Candidates selected as Sergeant will have to attend basic training for 01 (one) year duration at Bangladesh Police Academy, Sarada, Rajshahi.
14. Job benefits
14.1 Grade 10 as per National Pay Scale, 2015: Rs.16,000-38,640/- including other benefits
14.2 traffic allowance, free clothing items, hazard allowance, medical facilities and family ration items at low cost subject to availability for self and specified number of family members;
14.3 Opportunity to participate in UN peacekeeping missions with promotion to higher posts as per prevailing norms.

15. General instructions

15.1 The Authority reserves the right to change the examination schedule including reducing/increasing the number of appointable posts considering the overall situation;

15.2 The Authority reserves the right to cancel the recruitment/application form of any candidate without assigning any reason. The decision of the Authority in the matter of appointment shall be final;

15.3 If any adverse report is received in the investigation or subsequent investigation regarding the information provided by the candidate regarding educational qualification and other matters, necessary legal action will be taken including exemption from training/dismissal/dismissal from the job of the said candidate;

15.4 If the documents submitted as proof of verification of the age of children of brave freedom fighters/martyred freedom fighters are not found to be correct on verification, necessary legal action including exemption from training/dismissal/dismissal from employment.
