Senior Officer JOB PURPOSE:

This position is responsible for assisting in implementing the organization and program MEAL system, tools, and guidelines. S/he is responsible for collecting information from programs for activity/ output/ outcome monitoring. S/he is also responsible to ensures the quality of data and, supporting district-level program personnel to improve the quality of the program. S/he is responsible for implementing accountability and learning activities at the field level. S/he is the primary liaison between the program and BRAC MEAL at the field level and is also responsible for coordinating and providing technical assistance to the program teams in the areas of monitoring, evaluation, accountability, and learning.

Senior Officer KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Assist in developing appropriate methodology, sampling, data collection plan, and data
collection tools for results monitoring.
Assist in data collection training and orientations.
Plan and conduct data collection on the field following the set guidelines for the survey, focusing on data quality.
Work closely with the project team to implement MEAL activities in the field.
Collect data as per questionnaires designed in Open Data Kit (ODK) Software/
KoBo Toolbox by using a smartphone or tab, and review and submit to the server within
the timeline.
Keep a summary of monitoring findings through the prescribed format and immediately share it with the concerned program staff of the visited branch.
Look for additional observations, check on the quality of questions, etc., and provide
feedback to Manager – MEAL.
Conduct MEAL findings sharing sessions at the field level with respective program
team.
Develop the capacity of the program team in the field to implement proper feedback
and response mechanisms for participants.
Carry out regular field visits to capture and document learnings of programs and
ensure proper dissemination at the branch/district level.
Complete any other MEAL-related activities assigned by Manager – MEAL.

Senior Officer SAFEGUARDING RESPONSIBILITIES:

Ensure the safety of team members from any harm, abuse, neglect, harassment, and exploitation to achieve the program’s goals of safeguarding implementation. Act as a key source of support, guidance, and expertise on safeguarding for establishing a safe working environment.
Practice, promote and endorse the issues of safeguarding policy among team members and ensure the implementation of safeguarding standards in every course of action.
Follow the safeguarding reporting procedure in case any reportable incident takes place, and encourage others to do so.

Senior Officer ADDITIONAL JOB REQUIREMENTS:

Good communication skills and writing skills
ICT skills (MS Word and Excel, PowerPoint, internet, data entry in tab-based formats)
Knowledge of data collection techniques
Knowledge of sampling methodology and monitoring concepts
Knowledge of social enterprise/business, health, and education sector in Bangladesh is a plus
Result-oriented, able to work under tight deadlines
Able to travel anywhere in Bangladesh
Self-motivated, amiable, able to mingle in various cultures, and Respects BRAC values
