According to Statistics of Civil Officers and Servants-2021, the total number of government posts is 19 Lakh 13 thousand 52. 15 lakh 54 thousand 927 people are working. 3 lakh 58 thousand 125 vacancies. First-class positions are vacant 43 thousand 336. Most of the vacant posts are in class III. 1 lakh 51 thousand 548 posts are vacant. After that, the post is vacant in class IV. Here 1 lakh 22 thousand 680 posts are vacant. The number of vacancies in the second class is 40 thousand 561.

 

The number of vacant posts in offices and organizations under the Ministry of Health is 74 thousand 574. The second highest 44 thousand 790 posts are vacant in the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education. There are 26 thousand 174 vacant posts in departments and organizations under the Ministry of Finance, 15 thousand 113 vacant posts in the Ministry of Railways, 9 thousand 796 in the Ministry of Agriculture, 6 thousand 274 in the Ministry of Defense, 587 in the Ministry of Cultural Affairs, 585 in the Ministry of Disaster Management and Relief, 8 thousand 589 in the Ministry of Education, There are 6 thousand 98 vacancies in the Ministry of Food, 20 thousand 389 in the Ministry of Home Affairs, 2 thousand 2 in the Ministry of Housing and Public Works and 9 thousand 132 in the Ministry of Telecommunication and Information Technology.

 

Public Service Commission (PSC) has decided to publish BCS notifications in November every year from now. The 45th BCS notification was published on November 30. In continuation of this, another BCS will come in the new year. Apart from this, there will be other non-cadre recruitment through PSC.

 

There are about 600 vacancies in Bangladesh Small and Cottage Industries Corporation (BCIC). The organization has taken initiative to fill these vacant posts. A BCIC official told Prothom Alo that demand letters have been sent to the ministry for the recruitment of about 250 people from 9th to 20th grade. After receiving the clearance from the ministry, we will publish the notification for the recruitment of 250 workers within a few months. Out of this, about 120 posts will be for the ninth grade.

 

The number of vacant posts in the Ministry of Primary and Mass Education is 44 thousand 790. Out of this, 44 thousand 713 posts are vacant in the Directorate of Primary Education. According to sources of the Directorate, the work of filling these posts is going on. An official of the Department of Primary Education, who did not wish to be named, told Prothom Alo that another notification for the post of assistant teacher in government primary schools would be published very soon.
